Building a community of mothers & kin who explore together.
Homeschool resources for the nature rooted family in Orange County, CA.
We Are Mothers.
Our work is beautiful, and it is not meant to do alone in isolation. Taproots is an opportunity to explore together, to build community, to foster a love for learning through nature and to give our children an opportunity for quality free play. We are glad you're here, and we are excited to adventure with you and your littles.
A major inspiration for the core values of this group comes from the educational philosophy of Charlotte Mason, Wild + Free and The 1000 Hours Outside Project. We value the school of nature, the power of story, the pedagogy of play, and the importance of curiosity and wonder in shaping childhood. As mothers we desire to model kindness through gentle parenting and act as guides for our children to experience the goodness, truth, and beauty in our world.
Our deep hope is that this grows into a community where both mothers and children get to delve into their passions, and glean from one another. We are not alone. Let's go down this parenting path together, and marvel each step of the way.
“If mothers could learn to do for themselves what they do for their children…we should have happier households. Let the mother go out to play!" - Charlotte Mason
